Dead Horse was a light sculpture inspired by the tragic image of a deceased animal on a mexican road. The sculpture was installed in Los Angeles in 1994 and New York in 1997. The suspended wireframe was filled with fluorescent light and covered with fresh leaves. The sculpture evolved over time as the leaves dried; the light initially bright green, it gradually brightened and whitened.
